Daily Itinerary
DAY 1
Winnipeg → Churchill → Churchill Museum → Polar Bear Research Center → Mural Walk → Hudson Bay Aurora Viewing

Fly from Winnipeg to the Polar Bear Capital of the World – Churchill.

Upon arrival, your guide will greet you at the airport and take you on a tour of the charming town of Churchill, home to fewer than 1,000 residents and surrounded by national parks and the vast Hudson Bay. The only way to reach this remote town is by plane or train, adding to its unique charm.

As you explore, your guide will share stories about Churchill’s history and culture — from its military role during World War II, to how the withdrawal of troops, the presence of Indigenous peoples, and the arrival of polar bears have shaped the town’s identity today.

Highlights of the tour include visits to the Churchill Museum, the Polar Bear Research Center, the famous Polar Bear Holding Facility ("polar bear jail"), and a stroll past the vivid murals scattered throughout the town.

In the evening, head to the shores of Hudson Bay, where you may witness hundreds of beluga whales swimming in the bay. From July to August, it’s calving season — mother belugas gather here to give birth and teach their young how to feed, communicate, and navigate the ocean. It’s a breathtaking summer-only spectacle you won’t forget!

If weather conditions allow, your guide will also arrange an aurora viewing experience.

DAY 2
Miss Piggy Plane Wreck → Shipwreck Site → Beluga & Polar Bear Boat Tour → Wild BBQ Party

After breakfast, set off on a local adventure exploring Churchill’s historical landmarks.
Visit the famous Miss Piggy cargo plane wreck from WWII, a mysterious shipwreck, and the Rocket Range signal station — relics that tell the story of Churchill’s surprising past.
As you wander through these sites, you’ll feel the echoes of history still lingering in this remote northern town.

In the afternoon, get ready for one of the highlights of your trip!
Head to Hudson Bay for a guided speedboat tour across the water in search of polar bears.
In the warmer summer months, polar bears love to stay along the coast — chances are high you’ll see them lounging, playing, or hunting by the shore.

Along the way, you’ll also encounter playful beluga whales up close.
Your boat captain will even drop a hydrophone into the water, so you can hear the belugas’ underwater conversations — a truly magical experience.

In the evening, your guide will host a wild BBQ party, where you’ll get a taste of local Churchill-style cuisine in a relaxed, festive setting.

If the weather allows, aurora viewing will be arranged.

DAY 3
Tundra Buggy Polar Bear Tour → Free Time (Optional Add-on: Boat or Extra Buggy Tour)

Aside from the boat tours, Churchill’s most iconic way to see polar bears is aboard a massive two-story tundra buggy.
Today, you’ll head deep into Wapusk National Park, a highly protected polar bear habitat that only licensed guides and tundra vehicles are allowed to enter.
This is truly polar bear country, and stepping foot is prohibited to preserve its fragile ecosystem.

From the safety and comfort of your tundra buggy, you'll traverse the wild, bumpy terrain while your guide helps you track polar bears in their natural environment.
Along the way, you may also spot caribou, moose, Arctic foxes, wolves, and a wide variety of northern birds.
It’s an unforgettable wildlife experience that connects you deeply with Canada’s pristine Arctic wilderness.

In the afternoon, enjoy some free time.
If you’re eager for more bear watching, your guide can help you book an optional boat tour for another chance to spot polar bears from the water.
For those looking for an active adventure, try kayaking with belugas — paddle out and get even closer to these playful white whales!

If the weather allows, an aurora viewing will be arranged in the evening.
